The Fringe Benefits of Fabric trim
In a world that is leaning towards the minimalistic lifestyle, you would think using fabric trim would be left in the 90’s. Absolutely not! It is not whether or not to use trim, but how and where to use it. The current trend is less is more so just a little bit of fabric trim can make a bold statement. Consider selecting trim with colors that you love and you are already using in your home. This will help you achieve a cohesive design. Remember you do not need to spend a lot of money to create impact. You can find a nice selection of trimmings in you local craft store. And if you are anything like me and not the best seamstress, simply do a simple tack down OR purchase a roll of heat transfer webbing. Lord knows I’ve used that many times over the years. All you need to know is how to iron! Here are simple examples of my favorite ways to use fabric trim throughout the home.
Add a designer’s touch to simple drapery panels by adding trim. You can add the trim to the inside of the panel, both sides or both the sides as well as the bottom.
A huge trend in home interiors are Roman Shades. They are simple & functional. Consider adding trim to the bottom of your Roman Shades to elevate them.
Let’s not forget about ALL those toss pillows we have. Surround them with fabric trim and you elevate the look.
